Windows 8.1 System Requirements

Recently we heard that Windows 8.1 aka Windows Blue is going to be released and now is ready to download as a free update for all Windows 8 users. Microsoft made available the update as free as there will be no service packs in future in Windows series anymore. All users are excited to use the new features so coming in Windows 8.1 but before that lets see what sort of system requirements is needed for it.

We all will be happy to see that system requirements of Windows 8.1 is same as that of Windows 7 and Windows 8. Here is the detailed requirements:

  • 1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1GB RAM (32-bit) / 2GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) 1.0 or higher driver
  • And to take advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch (optionally)
