We all know about the Steve Ballmer, Current CEO of Microsoft is going to retire any day in coming 12 months. He will be retiring from post of CEO and initiation process for the same has also started. Ballmer will remain CEO until the next CEO is named. Microsoft is waiting for its successor. Next Microsoft CEO has started voting for the next Microsoft CEO. Currently Scott Hanselman is at no. 1 in the competition. Others so in race are Scott Guthrie, Bill Gates, Steven Sinofsky, Ben Rudolph, Marissa Mayer (Yahoo’s CEO) and the list goes on. One can vote for his candidate once in an hour. My original thoughts on timing would have had my retirement happen in the middle of our company’s transformation to a devices and services company. We need a CEO who will be here longer term for this new direction.
