Microsoft already set to acquire Skype in $8.5billion

Recently we were hearing about acquisition of Skype by Microsoft and now it is officially announced by Steve Ballmer. Now Microsoft will acquire Skype in $8.5 billion as they confirmed on the basis of a definitive agreement. Skype Global S.a.r.l is leading company providing voice and video conversation all over the world to 170 million connected users.

As per Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer:

“Skype is a phenomenal service that is loved by millions of people around the world, Together we will create the future of real-time communications so people can easily stay connected to family, friends, clients and colleagues anywhere in the world.”

Skype was first acquired by eBay and then by Silver Lake where it improved alot and still serving phenomenal services to its users. Microsoft and Skype will now go combined and Microsoft will get support from Skype in Microsoft devices like Xbox, Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices and users of Skype will be connected to Lync, Outlook and other Windows Live Services.
