Microsoft released Windows 8 Consumer Preview this year with the concept of Metro Style apps and in this Operating System we used SkyDrive app for using our SkyDrive from our PC. Now Microsoft released an official SkyDrive app for Windows, Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad and MAC too. SkyDrive for Windows will work on Windows XP or later and we all know that Windows 8 is having it inbuilt.

SkyDrive app is officially available for free download and give you an easy way to access your SkyDrive from your PC, Windows Phone, MAC, iPhone or iPad.

SkyDrive for Windows: After installing this app a new SkyDrive folder will be created on your PC and whatever you put here will be automatically sync between PC and SkyDrive.com. Now access anything from everywhere.

Features of SkyDrive app for Windows:

  • Access your SkyDrive right from Windows Explorer—photos, documents, and all your other important files.
  • Quickly add new files to SkyDrive by dragging them to the SkyDrive folder.
  • Easily organize your files and folders in SkyDrive, just like any other folder.
  • Connect back to your PC if you forget to put something in SkyDrive.

SkyDrive for Windows Phone: Via the SkyDrive app you can directly upload pictures to SkyDrive as Windows Phone have built-in-access to SkyDrive right from the Office and Pictures hubs.

SkyDrive App for Xobni: SkyDrive app for Xobni will bring SkyDrive into your Outlook so that it will be easy to share large files with ease and no need to worry about email file size limitations. SkyDrive gadeget for Xobni allows to access files directly from your SkyDrive and you just have to choose and select to send files to others. The file you want to share with the email recipients will be made share-able if it is not and will be available via the copied URL only.
